It wasn't quite an act of stupidity, for it made her realize the common denominator of a certain kind of love. Even though it is pure tautology to campaign for the humanity, it surely shows enough of the power of cohesiveness in human experience. And empathy. It wasn't a useless detour into the other world. In fact it wasn't even some cut-throat exposure in any way. There she saw her own limits. No matter. The meeting with her friend made her once more see her strength, quite paled by the glamour of others. But she can find it one day, or so she believes.
